Meet Houdini, aka: Bella Coco, our 13-year-old puggle.
Over the past few weeks she has been miraculously escaping our large, fenced in backyard and showing up at our front door, the neighbor’s lawn, and everywhere in between.
Frustrated by her breaking bad trend, I said to my husband… “I don’t get it. She has everything. A yard. Shade. Water. Treats. And even a mid mod doghouse with a plush bed. What else could she want? Now she’s putting herself in danger outside the fence.”
No sooner did I say these words was I convicted.
How many times have I been unsatisfied by my “lot” in life, blinded by my blessings, focused on what I don’t have, or frustrated by the boundary lines meant to protect me?
The older I get the more I believe the secret to joy in life is being content no matter the circumstance.
