I was recently traveling and in a hurry, per usual. So when I came to a toll road, I strategically chose the lane with only one car in line.
As luck would have it, the lady in the vehicle was a slow mover. (Not one of my preferred qualities). I watched as all the other cars passed me by and got on with their days. My patience was thinning.
Finally, I made it to the booth to pay. The attendant shared that I owed nothing because the lady in front of paid my toll fee, and asked her to wish me a great day.
While I was busy judging, she was digging for change to pay my fee… thus the “delay.”
Stab. To. The. Heart.
How many times have I jumped to false, unfair conclusions or been too busy to see and care for people… even in seemingly small ways?
My challenge for all of us this new week is to extend at least one act of kindness to a total stranger, or even more courageous, to those we love most!
