- Embrace The Season You're In
-
Growing up, dad’s 1950s Lionel train was a staple of our family Christmas traditions.
My sisters and I would put cotton balls in the cars to look like snow, place the set under the tree, and watch with delight as it raced around the track!
I was so fascinated by that retro train, and the thoughts of my dad playing with it as a young boy, that he gave it to me! What a treasure!
For years, I kept the train boxed up because it wasn’t quite as magical to set up alone, or with the dogs! (Poor pugs!)
This year, though, a miracle happened: I unboxed the train, and had three people to share it with!
Tears welled as I watched my husband, Justin, and our two best guys, Lincoln and Shepard, experience the joy of the train.
We put our own spin on an old tradition. “The Holder Express”, as the boys named it, now transports skateboards instead of snowflakes!
Unmet longings feel hollow. Fulfilled longings feel full.
In life, we will experience both, so I want to encourage you…
If life feels hollow right now, do not give up on your miracle- for your life, relationship, job, health, family, finances, etc. Believe the seemingly impossible is possible. Be grateful for all you do have. Take action where needed. And posture your heart towards hope.
If life is in a full season for you, please do not take it for granted. You are living a miracle! See it! Be grateful for it. Nurture it. Celebrate it. And encourage others who need it.
As we enter a different kind of holiday season remember that miracles are possible for you… and me.
This I know.
Believing with and for you,
J.
